KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) parliamentary leader Gyanendra Shahi has strongly responded to remarks made by Shram Sanskriti Party chair Harka Sampang, who had demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister citing four key reasons.

In a statement, Shahi dismissed the resignation call as unnecessary and urged restraint, emphasizing respect for the current mandate.

“Honourable Harka Sampang, with due respect, there is no reason for the Prime Minister to resign,” Shahi said. “Remember, it was the same forces who ruled and plundered this country for 35 years. The people voted against them. We must respect the people’s mandate.”

He stressed that political stability and unity should take priority over confrontation, urging all sides to move the country forward together.

“Our only request is that the Prime Minister remains democratic and accountable to Parliament,” Shahi added. “Parliament is the voice of the people and the highest democratic forum to raise citizens’ concerns.”
