KATHMANDU: One of the 26 students injured in a school bus accident in Ratmata, Baglung Municipality-3, has died.

The deceased has been identified as Aman Bohora.

According to Superintendent of Police Tilak Bharati, six of the injured have been referred to Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment.

Nineteen others are undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Provincial Hospital in Baglung.

Those receiving treatment in Baglung include Anita Kisan, Alina Kisan, Muskan Kisan, Robins Kisan, Niksam Bohora, Umang Kisan, Sumit Gaire, Anish Bohora, Ananya Kisan, Roshani Bohora, Supriya Kisan, Sanvi Kisan, Shiv Kisan, Samiksha Gaire, Semul Thapa, Nishma Khadka, Bir Bahadur Thapa Magar, Aayana Bohora and Sarika Bohora.

Four critically injured students — Ayush Bohora, Aayan Bohora, Nikita Kisan and Soluman Rasaili — have been referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara, while Sujal Chhantyal and Sangam Kisan have been taken to Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences.

The accident occurred when a bus belonging to New Everest Academy School, operating from Ramrekha in Baglung Municipality–1, veered off the Mid-Hill Highway and plunged down near the Nepal Bhasha Manka Khala building in Ward-3, Ratamata.

The bus, bearing registration number Ga 3 Cha 8621, was carrying students at the time of the incident.

Police said further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
