Saroj Kumar Yadav elected leader of Unified Madhesh Provincial party
The decision was made unanimously in a two-day meeting held at the Provincial Assembly parliamentary party office on Wednesday and Thursday.
KATHMANDU: Saroj Kumar Yadav of Bara has been unanimously elected as the leader of the unified Madhesh Province Parliamentary Party formed after the merger of the Janata Samajbadi Party and the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
The decision was made unanimously in a two-day meeting held at the Provincial Assembly parliamentary party office on Wednesday and Thursday.
Former Finance Minister and Provincial Assembly member Sanjay Kumar Yadav confirmed the selection, saying the decision was reached by consensus among all members.
The unified parliamentary party now has 26 members—18 from the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and 8 from the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal.
Yadav, a former Chief Minister, is expected to lead the newly unified bloc in strengthening coordination within Madhesh Province politics.
