KATHMANDU: Internet service provider Sajilo Net and Everest Engineering College have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing practical, industry-oriented education for engineering students.

The agreement was inked on Thursday during a formal ceremony.

The MoU was signed by Sajilo Net CEO Satish Karki and Everest Engineering College Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Harikrishna Shrestha.

Speaking at the ceremony, CEO Karki said he was pleased to collaborate with a leading engineering institution. He highlighted that the partnership is based on shared vision and commitment, not just paperwork.

“This collaboration is not merely a document. It reflects our shared vision to link academia with real-world application,” he said. “Graduates come seeking jobs with strong theoretical knowledge but lack practical skills. Our initiative aims to bridge that gap, and we are confident it will succeed.”

Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Shrestha echoed similar sentiments, noting that the industry has long expressed concerns about graduates lacking practical exposure. He expressed confidence that the partnership will help address those concerns.

“We often receive complaints that students lack practical knowledge. Through this collaboration with Sajilo Net, we believe we can equip our students with both theoretical and practical skills,” he said.

He further added that the partnership will not only benefit the company but also support the nation in producing skilled technical manpower.

“This collaboration will not just produce manpower for Sajilo Net, but will help develop the workforce needed to drive Nepal’s technological growth,” he said.

Everest College CEO Arun Kumar Bhandari stressed the importance of cooperation rather than criticism in the nation’s development.

“Instead of constantly pointing out what others failed to do, we must focus on collaboration. Partnerships like this strengthen our ability to produce competent human resources for the country,” he noted.

The ceremony was attended by Sajilo Net representatives including CEO Satish Karki, COO Bikash Mudbhari, and Chairman Prakashman Singh GC.

On behalf of the college, Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Shrestha, Assistant Campus Chief Assoc. Prof. Rajan Lama, board member Rajendra Bhattarai, and other officials were present.
