Rupandehi-3, Manang by-elections canceled

KATHMANDU: The scheduled by-elections in Rupandehi-3 and Manang have been canceled.
Following the Gen Z movement, the federal parliament was dissolved, and the interim government has announced new election dates, rendering the previously planned by-elections invalid.
The Election Commission had been preparing to hold the elections on Kartik 17, with political parties making final arrangements.
Some parties had already announced their candidates, while the commission had appointed election commissioners to oversee the process.
The Rupandehi-3 seat became vacant after the passing of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Deepak Bohora, elected in 2079 BS.
Similarly, the Manang-1 (2) seat was vacated following a court order concerning the previously elected lawmaker, Deepak Manange.
