KATHMANDU: The Central Election Commission of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has published its election schedule for the party’s first national general convention, introducing mandatory requirements for proposers and supporters in the nomination process.

According to the notice issued by the election body, candidates contesting for the posts of party President, office bearers, and central committee members must strictly comply with the newly defined nomination rules while submitting their candidacy forms.

For the President position, a candidate is required to submit nominations supported by one proposer and 51 supporters.

Each name must include full identification details, contact numbers, and signatures.

Similarly, candidates for other office bearer positions and central committee membership must be backed by one proposer and 21 supporters, along with complete personal details and verified signatures.

The commission has also clarified that a single proposer cannot endorse multiple candidates, a rule aimed at maintaining fairness and preventing duplication in the nomination process.

The election authority stated that these provisions have been introduced to ensure a more structured, transparent, and impartial nomination system as the party prepares for its inaugural national general convention.
