KATHMANDU: The closed session of the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to begin at 2:00 PM today, following a one-day postponement due to technical reasons.

The party had initially scheduled the session for Monday at 8:30 AM, but it was delayed as time was required for verification of provincial delegate lists and printing of identity cards, according to organizers.

RSP Chitwan Chair E. Minimadhav Khanal said that the session will begin after the distribution of delegate ID cards, which started shortly before noon.

According to the revised agenda, the closed session will first review the report presented by Disciplinary Commission member Ramakanta Rimal.

This will be followed by discussion on the financial report presented by Treasurer Lima Adhikari.

Subsequently, the amendment proposal to the party statute will be presented by Joint General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya, followed by the organizational report from General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti and the economic and political proposal from Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

After approval of these reports, party President Rabi Lamichhane is scheduled to present his political report, which will be discussed in the session.

The party also plans to propose forming an interim management committee and hand over full convention responsibilities to the election committee, which will later announce the election process and schedule.

The convention, inaugurated on Sunday at a guesthouse ground in Bharatpur, is now moving its closed-door proceedings to the Industrial Association Exhibition Center.
