KATHMANDU: Global home appliance leader Bosch has officially launched its first dedicated brand store in Nepal, marking a major milestone in its South Asian expansion strategy.

The store has been opened in Jwagal, Lalitpur, in collaboration with Nepal’s leading business conglomerate Laxmi Group.

The initiative has been executed through BSH Home Appliances, the parent company of Bosch home appliances, alongside its official Nepal distributor Laxmi Electrotech.

According to the company, the new brand store will allow Nepali consumers to directly experience and explore Bosch’s full range of premium home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, food preparation appliances, and built-in kitchen solutions.

The store is designed to offer an immersive retail experience that brings German engineering and advanced technology closer to local consumers.

Saif Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BSH Home Appliances India, said Nepal represents a promising long-term market for premium home appliances, driven by rapid urbanization, evolving lifestyles, and increasing demand for quality products.

“Nepal is entering an exciting phase of consumer growth. Rising aspirations, changing lifestyles, and a growing appreciation for quality are creating new opportunities in the premium home appliance segment. We see strong long-term potential in this market,” he said.

He added that Bosch’s “Invented for Life” philosophy focuses on making everyday life simpler through high performance, durability, and user-centric innovation.

The company highlighted strong potential in Nepal for front-load washing machines, dishwashers, and built-in kitchen appliances. It noted that front-load washing machines already account for around 70–80 percent of total washing machine sales in the country. Demand for dishwashers is also gradually increasing due to changing family structures, hygiene awareness, and the growing preference for time-saving appliances.

Bosch also sees expanding opportunities in the modular kitchen segment, supported by the growth of premium housing developments in Nepal.

Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, Chair of Laxmi Group, expressed satisfaction over the partnership, noting that the group has been introducing world-class products and technologies to Nepali consumers for over five decades.

He said the collaboration with Bosch aligns with Nepal’s shift toward a modern lifestyle and rising consumer expectations. “Nepal is entering a new era of modern living and growing aspirations. We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Bosch, a brand globally recognized for quality, responsibility, and reliability,” he said.

The Jwagal brand store is designed to provide customers with live product demonstrations, expert consultation, and a modern retail experience.

Currently, Bosch operates through more than 70 dealer partners and 20 modern trade outlets across Nepal. The company plans to further expand its sales network, enhance after-sales service, strengthen consumer education, and introduce new products in the coming years.

BSH Home Appliances reported approximately €15 billion in global revenue in 2025 and operates in around 50 countries worldwide.
