RSP mature enough to settle disputes: Lamichhane
Addressing the convention’s closed session on Tuesday, Lamichhane said that minor weaknesses and disagreements are inevitable in a large political gathering.
KATHMANDU: President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has acknowledged procedural shortcomings during the party’s ongoing general convention, saying such issues are natural in an event of this scale and should be addressed through internal discussion.
Addressing the convention’s closed session on Tuesday, Lamichhane said that minor weaknesses and disagreements are inevitable in a large political gathering.
“When organizing such a grand event, there are bound to be shortcomings somewhere. There may also be issues that some of us are not satisfied with, and such situations can arise,” he said.
Lamichhane stressed that a political party’s maturity is reflected in its ability to resolve problems constructively. He urged party members to discuss concerns, questions, and disagreements within the party rather than turning them into public controversies.
“As a political party moving toward greater maturity, any misunderstandings, concerns, or questions among us should be settled through discussion within the room, not by creating a spectacle on the streets,” he said.
He emphasized that internal differences should be resolved in a dignified and responsible manner, adding that strengthening unity and maintaining a healthy political culture should remain the party’s priority.
Lamichhane further expressed confidence that the RSP is capable of overcoming its internal disputes and emerging stronger through dialogue and consensus.
