Paudel appears in Special Court as remand hearing continues
According to officials, the investigation is focused on potential irregularities involving unexplained wealth and financial dealings linked to share market activities.
KATHMANDU: The Department of Money Laundering Investigation has presented Bishnu Paudel before the Special Court seeking an extension of custody in connection with a probe into alleged suspicious assets and share transactions.
According to officials, the investigation is focused on potential irregularities involving unexplained wealth and financial dealings linked to share market activities.
While government attorneys have requested additional time to continue the investigation, Paudel’s legal team has strongly objected, arguing that the arrest procedure itself was flawed and legally questionable.
Paudel was taken into police custody from Surkhet on Monday based on a letter from the department and was later brought to Kathmandu on Tuesday for further legal proceedings.
The Special Court is currently reviewing the request for extended custody as the investigation continues.
