Rs 25,000 relief announced for displaced squatters

KATHMANDU: Authorities have initiated the process of providing Rs 25,000 in relief assistance to landless squatters who were removed from various locations across the Kathmandu Valley and relocated to holding centers.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has also directed the displaced families to vacate their current settlements and make alternative arrangements by Asar 12 (June 26).

Officials have asked eligible beneficiaries to submit applications to receive the relief amount, which will be transferred directly to their bank accounts.

According to the administration, the assistance, intended to help cover housing rent expenses, will be distributed in installments.
