KATHMANDU: Kanchan Bichha, a Madhesh Provincial Assembly member from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has been suspended.

According to Provincial Assembly Secretary Vasudev Koirala, the suspension was issued based on a written request from the party.

The notice, published today, cites Rule 190 of the Provincial Assembly Operational Rules, 2075, Section 35(2) of the Political Parties Act, 2073, and Rule 191 of the Assembly Rules.

RPP stated that Bichha violated party discipline against its policies.

The party’s Central Executive Committee has decided to expel him from the party as a general member for six months and withdraw him from the provincial assembly, in accordance with the party constitution of 2048 (amended).
