KATHMANDU: Reena Dangol has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director of Nepal Telecommunication Company Limited (Nepal Telecom), following a decision by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Jan 5 (Magh 22).

Dangol, a graduate in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Bangladesh University, began her career on May 15, 1994 (Jestha 1, 2051 BS) as a temporary engineer at the former Nepal Telecommunication Corporation and secured permanent appointment on May 23, 1995 (Jestha 9, 2052 BS).

She was promoted to Deputy Managing Director of Nepal Telecom on July 15, 2023 (Jestha 32, 2080 BS). She has previously served as director of regional directorates in Biratnagar and Kathmandu, as well as the Wireline and Customer Service Directorate.

Most recently, she held the position of Chief Technical Officer.

Upon assuming office, Dangol emphasized her commitment to advancing the company by prioritizing customer needs, government objectives, and national interests.

She outlined a vision to make Nepal Telecom customer-centric, technology-driven, and financially robust, while balancing public responsibilities with competitive capability.
