Rain with thunderstorms likely in many provinces today
During the day, the Koshi Province along with hilly and Himalayan regions across the country will experience generally cloudy skies, while the Terai plains will see partly cloudy conditions.
KATHMANDU: Nepal is expected to witness partly cloudy to generally cloudy conditions across most parts of the country today, with a chance of rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in several regions, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
During the day, the Koshi Province along with hilly and Himalayan regions across the country will experience generally cloudy skies, while the Terai plains will see partly cloudy conditions.
The department has forecast light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Similar weather activity is also likely in a few locations of Madhesh Province, as well as in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Isolated areas of the Terai in Sudurpaschim may also experience thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, a hot day is likely in parts of the Terai belt of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, the department added.
For tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected nationwide. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in several areas of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in the Himalayan regions across all provinces.
A few hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim, along with isolated parts of the Terai in Sudurpaschim, may also receive rainfall.
