Protester killed in Gen Z demonstration

KATHMANDU: A protester injured by police gunfire during a Gen Z-led demonstration in New Baneshwor has died, hospital sources confirmed.

The incident occurred while the protest was ongoing, and the injured were receiving treatment at Civil Hospital, New Baneshwor.

According to hospital director Dr. Mohan Regmi, the identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.

Around 70 to 80 other protesters are currently under medical care for injuries sustained during the protest.

The police stated that detailed information about the incident is still under investigation.

Security forces have been deployed at the site to prevent further unrest.
