Prime Commercial Bank wins Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2026 title
The four-day tournament concluded in Kathmandu from Jestha 17 to 20, bringing together leading financial institutions from across the country.
KATHMANDU: Prime Commercial Bank Limited has emerged victorious in the Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2026 (Season 5), organized on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank.
The four-day tournament concluded in Kathmandu from Jestha 17 to 20, bringing together leading financial institutions from across the country.
In the final, Prime Commercial Bank secured the championship title, while Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited finished as the runner-up.
The tournament featured strong participation from the corporate sector, with a total of 24 teams competing, including 9 commercial banks, 7 development banks, 3 finance companies, 1 microfinance institution, 3 insurance companies, and 1 merchant bank.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on Friday under the chief guestship of former national cricket team captain and ex-international cricketer Gyanendra Malla.
During the event, the champions, Prime Commercial Bank, were awarded the trophy, while runner-up Machhapuchchhre Bank also received their award.
Individual excellence was also recognized across categories. Lumbini Bikas Bank’s Laxman Pradhan was named Best Fielder, Anil Bhujel of Sanima GIC Insurance Limited received the Best Wicketkeeper award, and Nepal Bank Limited’s Mohan Kumar Shrestha was honored as Best Bowler.
Srijan Subedi of Machhapuchchhre Bank was declared Best Batsman, while Kirtarth Shakya of Prime Commercial Bank was adjudged the Player of the Tournament. Sanima GIC Insurance Limited also received the Fair Play Award.
Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank expressed heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, participating teams, and individuals and organizations who contributed directly and indirectly to the successful completion of the tournament.
