KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel has underscored that the preservation, promotion, and enhancement of Nepal’s rich art, culture, and heritage is a shared responsibility, not only for the government but also for the private sector and every citizen.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Nepal Art and Culture Festival on Friday, President Paudel highlighted the importance of equal opportunities for all social classes, sectors, and professions under the democratic governance system.

He urged heritage enthusiasts to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding the country’s invaluable cultural treasures.

He praised the Nepal Art Council’s initiative in organizing the festival through collaborative efforts involving private, government, and community stakeholders, calling it a positive step forward.

The President expressed confidence that such programs will play a vital role in showcasing Nepal’s narratives — from its majestic Himalayas to its unique cultural heritage — to the global audience.

Affirming his belief in democracy as a platform that ensures equal progress and opportunity for all ethnicities, sectors, and classes, President Paudel stressed the need for stakeholders to focus on utilizing these achievements and opportunities to further the development of Nepal’s languages, arts, and culture.
