Prasai calls for restoration of monarchy, claims it key to stability in Nepal
Prasai said a new political force is being formed in collaboration with Dhaval Shumsher Rana with the shared goal of reinstating the monarchy.
KATHMANDU: Durga Prasai, coordinator of the “Citizen Rescue Campaign,” has asserted that Nepal cannot achieve peace, prosperity, or stability unless the monarchy is restored.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Sunday organized for the formation and responsibility transfer of a proposed nationalist political party, Prasai said a new political force is being formed in collaboration with Dhawal Shumsher Rana with the shared goal of reinstating the monarchy.
He said the group is also working toward establishing a “Vedic Sanatan Hindu state” alongside the restoration of the monarchy, claiming that these objectives are essential for lasting national stability.
“There is a shared vision for Nepal’s geography and its diverse cultural roots, including Kirat and Buddhist traditions, under a Vedic Sanatan Hindu state and monarchy. Until this goal is achieved, Nepali citizens will not experience peace and happiness,” Prasai stated.
He further claimed that there is full ideological alignment between him and Rana, dismissing any possibility of division in their cooperation.
Prasai also expressed anticipation for the day when the monarchy would be reinstated and a king would once again ascend the throne, adding that their partnership would remain long-term due to their common political objectives.
