Pokhara moves to clear long-stalled bus park site after 50 years

KATHMANDU: Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) has begun removing structures at the long-delayed bus park construction site in Ward No. 9, aiming to finally advance a project that has remained incomplete for nearly five decades.
The demolition drive was carried out on Thursday in the presence of Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, marking a renewed push to accelerate development work that had been stuck at the planning stage for years.

According to the metropolis, unauthorized structures and physical obstructions within the project area are being cleared to pave the way for construction.

The bus park project, considered a flagship infrastructure initiative, had failed to move forward due to various legal and administrative hurdles over the past 50 years.

City authorities have stated that they are now committed to completing the project by maintaining momentum and ensuring uninterrupted construction progress.
