KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has informed the House of Representatives that Prime Minister Balendra Shah is preparing to attend Parliament and respond to questions raised by lawmakers.

During Tuesday’s session of the House of Representatives of Nepal, opposition parties obstructed proceedings, demanding the Prime Minister’s immediate presence and answers on various contemporary issues.

Addressing the House, Speaker Aryal stated that the demands raised by the opposition were legitimate, constitutional, and in line with parliamentary rules.

He added that he has been continuously holding discussions with opposition leaders, chief whips, and the ruling party’s chief whip in an effort to resolve the deadlock.

With the upcoming federal budget session approaching, the Speaker stressed the need to move forward with scheduled parliamentary business without disruption.

He also urged all members of Parliament to help create an environment where lawmakers’ questions and concerns can be properly addressed.

“According to information received from the ruling party’s chief whip, the Prime Minister is fully aware of the ongoing parliamentary developments and the issues raised by members. He is prepared to respond and is expected to appear in the House soon,” Speaker Aryal said.

The opposition continues to demand an official response from the Prime Minister on several pressing national issues, leading to repeated disruptions in parliamentary proceedings.
