PM Oli calls for positivity, highlights Karnali development achievements

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed concern over the growing tendency to focus on negative commentary rather than acknowledging the country’s positive developments.
Speaking at the ‘Jurukka Karnali’ program organized by Sisnupani Nepal, he emphasized the need for a constructive and optimistic attitude among Nepalis.
“An attitude of negativity has emerged. We need to foster positive thinking and move forward with optimism,” PM Oli said. He argued that if all Nepalis embrace positivity, nation-building would accelerate significantly.
Addressing the critical remarks often directed at him, PM Oli remarked that such criticism is like “those who do nothing, finding fault with those who act.” He asserted his own contribution to the development of Karnali Province, noting, “Personally, I am from a distant corner of Jhapa. Only a few friends may advance, otherwise I would compete myself.”
Recalling his earlier efforts in Dailekh to explore gas mining prospects, he pointed out the irony of detractors who dismissed his proposals then but opposed them even after gas was discovered. “Many criticized when exploration was needed. Today gas has been found, yet some still refuse to acknowledge it,” he said, underlining that Karnali cannot remain stagnant or indifferent.
PM Oli also highlighted significant accomplishments in Karnali that often go unrecognized, including the establishment of a university, helicopter evacuations of women in remote areas during childbirth, and the expansion of road networks. “Gas has been found, yet no discussion. Universities are built, yet no recognition. Roads are constructed, yet nobody notices,” he lamented.
While acknowledging existing shortcomings, he stressed the importance of improvement and progress. “Karnali can rise. Karnali must rise,” he stated, expressing his firm belief that Nepal is on a path of growth and development.
