KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has alleged that the environment for the upcoming House of Representatives elections has not been fair, free, or free from malpractice.

Speaking at an interaction program organized to collect expert suggestions for the party’s election manifesto, Oli said the government has failed to ensure an impartial and transparent electoral process.

According to a statement issued by the party’s publicity coordinator, Min Bahadur Shahi, Oli emphasized that the party is closely monitoring the activities and conduct of state institutions related to the elections.

Oli also stated that the political turmoil in Bhadau had caused serious damage to nationalism, democracy, and the constitution, and stressed the need for strong leadership to rebuild these foundations.

He expressed commitment to reinforcing national security and strengthening national unity with high morale and determination.

The statement further quoted Oli as saying that the protection of nationalism, sovereignty, national security, and dignity cannot be achieved through surrender, and that resistance, opposition, and defense would be pursued whenever necessary.

He underlined that no form of capitulation would be acceptable.

Highlighting the party’s vision, Oli said the election manifesto is being prepared by placing the nation first, with a focus on prosperity, good governance, and sustainable development to fulfill the aspirations of the Nepali people.

The CPN-UML plans to unveil a practical manifesto featuring programs capable of delivering tangible results within five years, the statement added.
