NPL: Rohit named best player, wins car

KATHMANDU: Lumbini Lions captain Rohit Paudel was named the Best Nepali Player of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 on Saturday after leading his team to a sixth consecutive victory and the championship title.

In the final at Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground, Lumbini defeated Sudurpaschim Royals by six wickets.

Rohit, who also captains the Nepali national team, scored 276 runs in this NPL season and added 16 runs off 12 balls in the final.

Across both seasons, he has accumulated a total of 555 runs, making him the highest run-scorer in NPL history.

Rohit’s bowling was equally impressive. In the final, he took 3 wickets for 12 runs, completing a hat-trick, and finished the season with 10 wickets.

As the Best Player of the tournament, he was awarded a JAECOO JE-5 SUV.

Other standout performers included Sandeep Lamichhane of Biratnagar Kings, who was named the Best Bowler with 17 wickets, helping his team reach the playoffs and the Qualifier 2.

Sher Malla, also from Lumbini Lions, was named the Emerging Player, taking 17 wickets in the tournament.

All three awardees received bikes as prizes.
