No casualties as fire destroys home in Bhojpur

KATHMANDU: A house was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out on Sunday afternoon at Pheri Market in Ward No. 6 of Arun Rural Municipality, Bhojpur.

According to police, the fire engulfed the residence of local resident Hemchandra Acharya, reducing household belongings, clothes, and other valuables inside the house to ashes.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams from Jarayotar in Bhojpur and Leguwa in Dhankuta were immediately deployed to the scene.

With the support of local residents, efforts were made to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby houses.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Drona Khatri of the Leguwa Police Post said special precautions were taken to stop the blaze from spreading to neighboring homes.

The incident occurred near the banks of the Arun River, which marks the border area between Dhankuta and Bhojpur.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Police said a detailed assessment of the damage is underway. No human casualties were reported in the incident.
