NHRC recommends probe into Sudhan Gurung

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended further investigation into former Home Minister and Hami Nepal coordinator Sudhan Gurung, stating he failed to help prevent the Gen Z protest on Bhadra 23–24 from turning violent.

According to the commission, although the protest was initially permitted as peaceful, it escalated into violence and the organizers were unable to control the situation.

The NHRC has also recommended including Purushottam Yadav, Sabal Gautam, Ankit Mall, and Khemraj Saud in the scope of the investigation.
