NHRC recommends investigation into three RSP lawmakers

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended that the government launch an investigation into three lawmakers of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) over alleged involvement in human rights violations during the Gen Z protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24.
According to the commission, the recommendation is based on a report prepared under the coordination of member Lili Thapa, which was submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday.
The report calls for a detailed probe into the roles and involvement of Rajiv Khatri, Som Sharma, and Shiva Yadav in the incidents.
It further suggests that if they are found guilty, legal action should be taken in accordance with the law.
The commission has urged authorities to proceed with a thorough investigation into the matter.
