KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will now hold trading on Fridays following the government’s announcement of a public holiday on Sunday.

NEPSE spokesperson Murahari Parajuli confirmed that the exchange will open on Friday instead of remaining closed, explaining, “Since the government has declared Sunday a public holiday, trading on that day will not take place. Hence, the decision was made to open NEPSE on Friday.”

Previously, NEPSE trading was closed on Fridays, with sessions running from Sunday to Thursday.

From now on, trading will occur from Monday to Friday.

The government declared Sunday a public holiday to reduce petroleum consumption nationwide.
