NEPSE surges as finance sector leads gains

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 9.93 points, closing at 2,649.30 today.

A total of 334 companies traded 148.31 million shares across 88,362 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs 712.33 crore.

All sectors except Hotel & Tourism and Manufacturing & Processing recorded gains.

The Finance sector led the rally, with its sub-index climbing 2.87%, the highest among all sectors.

Life Development Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited posted the biggest gain of the day, with its share price surging 9.97%, while Ruru Hydropower Project Limited suffered the steepest loss, dropping 8.41%.
