NEPSE sees double-digit drop on start of the week

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a double-digit decline on the first trading day of the week.
The Nepse Index fell by 19.85 points, closing at 2,694.20.
A total of 32,929,0454 shares from 329 companies were traded in 110,728 transactions, amounting to a turnover of Rs 910.95 crore, Nepse reported.
Among sectoral indices, the Trading Group was the only gainer, rising by 0.55%, while all other sectors posted losses.
The declines included: Banking -0.42%, Development Banks -0.75%, Finance -0.44%, Hotels & Tourism -1.75%, Hydropower -1.36%, Investment -0.96%, Life Insurance -0.52%, Manufacturing & Processing -0.76%, Microfinance -0.57%, Mutual Funds -0.50%, Non-Life Insurance -0.63%, and Other Sectors -0.92%.
Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited recorded the highest gain, rising by 9.70%, while Corporate Development Bank Limited hit the negative circuit limit.
Based on trading volume and turnover, Aankhukhola Hydropower Company Limited was the most actively traded company, with 17,46,924 shares changing hands, valued at Rs 55.52 crore.
