NEPSE rises nearly 9 points on weekly closing day

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rebounded on Thursday, the final trading day of the week, gaining nearly nine points after witnessing a continuous decline from Sunday through Wednesday.
The benchmark index climbed 8.97 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 2,671.07 points compared to the previous trading day.
Out of the traded companies, share prices of 139 firms advanced, while 115 declined. Six companies remained unchanged.
A total of 106,018 transactions were recorded during the day, with 27,780,554 shares changing hands.
The total turnover reached Rs 11.10 billion, marking a significant increase compared to Wednesday’s Rs 8.69 billion.
Among the 13 traded sub-indices, hotels and tourism, microfinance, non-life insurance, others, and trading sectors posted losses.
However, gains in the remaining sectors helped lift the overall index by nearly nine points.
Despite earlier losses this week, Thursday’s recovery indicates renewed investor activity and improved market sentiment heading into the weekend.
