GIBL, Bhatbhateni launch zero-interest EMI facility for customers
The partnership aims to promote digital payments and expand access to modern financial services, offering greater convenience and financial flexibility to customers.
KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited and Bhatbhateni Supermarket and Departmental Store have entered into a bilateral agreement to introduce a “buy now, pay later” style on-the-fly EMI facility at zero percent interest for customers purchasing goods across all Bhatbhateni outlets.
The partnership aims to promote digital payments and expand access to modern financial services, offering greater convenience and financial flexibility to customers.
Under the agreement, credit card users of Global IME Bank will be able to convert purchases of Rs 15,000 or more into instant installment payments without any additional paperwork.
Customers can choose repayment tenures of 3, 6, 9, 12, or 18 months, and the facility will carry no interest or processing fee.
The bank stated that the scheme is expected to ease the immediate financial burden on customers, particularly for high-value purchases such as electronics and household goods, while enabling structured repayment options.
As part of the collaboration, a special Global BBSM Club Credit Card will also be issued based on customers’ purchasing behavior and transaction history at Bhatbhateni.
Eligible customers with regular spending patterns over the financial year and the last three months will receive credit limits ranging from Rs 150,000 to Rs 300,000.
Initially, the card will be usable within Bhatbhateni and its network, with users gaining access to enhanced payment convenience, exclusive offers, discounts, and future customer-focused schemes.
Both institutions have also planned joint initiatives in the coming days, including cashback, rewards programs, and promotional offers aimed at further encouraging digital transactions.
IMS Software Pvt Ltd has been engaged as the technology partner for the implementation of the system.
