NEPSE index sees moderate rise

KATHMANDU: After three consecutive days of decline, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index showed a modest increase today. The index rose by 3.27 points, closing at 2,584.49.

A total of 328 companies saw 7,668,915 shares traded in 92,746 transactions, amounting to Rs 342.98 crore in turnover, according to NEPSE.

Among sectoral indices, Banking rose by 0.10%, Finance by 0.20%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.10%, Hydropower by 0.29%, Manufacturing & Processing by 0.25%, Microfinance by 0.17%, and the Others group surged by 1.28%.

Meanwhile, other sectors declined, with Development Banks down 0.16%, Investment down 0.34%, Life Insurance down 0.79%, Mutual Funds down 0.11%, and Non-life Insurance down 0.16%.

SY Panel Nepal Limited recorded the highest share price gain at 7.01%, while Citizen Life Insurance Company Limited saw the steepest fall at 5.97%.

In terms of turnover and traded volume, SY Panel Nepal Limited led the market with Rs 30.98 crore worth of 391,371 shares traded.
