NEPSE index falls by double digits

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a decline of double digits on Monday, with the benchmark index falling by 13.17 points to close at 2,825.23 points.
According to NEPSE, the total turnover reached Rs 5.43 billion during the trading session.
Out of the traded companies, 65 recorded gains, while 197 declined, and 6 remained unchanged, indicating a bearish market trend.
Despite the overall drop, two companies delivered strong gains with a positive circuit limit.
These include SuryaKund Hydropower Electric Company and Hotel Forest Inn Limited, both of which saw their share prices surge significantly.
Meanwhile, investors in Doltie Power Company and NIC Asia Growth Fund–2 faced the biggest losses, with their share prices falling by around 5 percent each.
Among all listed companies, Hotel Forest Inn Limited recorded the highest trading volume of the day, with shares worth approximately Rs 36 crore exchanged.
