NEPSE index falls 26.16 points; turnover tops Rs 6.52 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 26.16 points on the day, settling at 2,770.26 points.

According to NEPSE, a total of 34.91 million shares of 349 companies were traded 151,286 times, generating a turnover of Rs 6.52 billion.

Except for the “Others” group, which rose by 0.73 percent, all sectoral indices closed in negative territory.

Banking declined by 0.84 percent, Development Banks by 1.22 percent, Finance by 0.61 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 2.56 percent, Hydropower by 1.74 percent, Investment by 0.47 percent, and Life Insurance by 0.16 percent.

Similarly, Manufacturing and Processing fell by 2.46 percent, Microfinance by 0.44 percent, Mutual Funds by 0.31 percent, Non-life Insurance by 0.39 percent, and Trading by 0.39 percent.

In today’s trading, Himalayan Bank Limited Bond 2086 gained the most, rising by 6 percent.

On the other hand, Corporate Development Bank Limited recorded the steepest decline, falling by 14.99 percent.
