NEPSE falls 8.16 points as market loses Thursday gains

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s stock market opened the week on a weak note as the NEPSE index dropped 8.16 points to close at 2,662.91, sliding 0.30% from Thursday’s close of 2,671.07.

Among traded companies, 86 saw their share prices rise, 163 fell, and 9 remained unchanged.

A total of 19.62 million shares changed hands across 805,559 transactions, amounting to Rs 794.27 crore, down from Thursday’s Rs 1,110.25 crore.

Sector-wise, finance, hotels & tourism, and manufacturing posted slight gains, while all other sub-sectors recorded declines, pulling the overall index lower.
