KATHMANDU: Khalti by IME has entered a strategic partnership with IME Limited and global payment technology giant Stripe to simplify and accelerate international payments for Nepali users working with overseas clients.

The collaboration enables Nepali freelancers, digital workers, and entrepreneurs to receive international payments directly into their Khalti or IME mobile wallets in real time.

Through the new system, users can send payment requests via the Khalti app, while global clients can settle payments using multiple channels including ACH, SEPA, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and e-banking.

According to the companies, the integration removes long settlement delays and eliminates the traditional complexities of cross-border payment collection, ensuring faster, safer, and fully compliant transactions aligned with regulatory standards.

The newly developed payment infrastructure is expected to significantly strengthen Nepal’s digital economy by improving global payment accessibility for its growing pool of online workers.

Khalti by IME CEO Pravin Regmi said the partnership marks a major milestone for Nepal’s fintech sector, opening new opportunities for Nepali digital talent to earn globally and access their income instantly through a unified and secure payment ecosystem.
