KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army celebrated its 263rd Army Day in a grand ceremony at the Tundikhel military grounds, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

President Ramchandra Paudel, the Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army, attended the event as the chief guest.
He was received with a ceremonial salute by a team of army personnel upon arrival at Tundikhel.
The President also paid tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the Army Memorial.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, senior government officials, diplomatic representatives, and distinguished personalities from various sectors.
The program featured impressive demonstrations of the army’s tactical expertise.
Units showcased march-pasts, rifle and artillery displays, khukuri drills, and mass percussion performances.
Adding cultural vibrancy, traditional dances and tableaux representing Nepal’s diverse ethnic communities were also presented.
Dedicated to safeguarding Nepal’s territorial integrity, promoting national unity, and serving the people, the Nepali Army has upheld the proud tradition of celebrating its founding day on Maha Shivaratri since Bikram Sambat 1819.
