Nepal Women exit Asia Cup without a win
India chased down the modest target in just 7.5 overs for the loss of three wickets.
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s women’s cricket team concluded their Asia Cup Rising Stars campaign in Hong Kong without a victory, bowing out at the group stage.
In their final group match in Thailand, Nepal suffered a 7-wicket defeat against India ‘A’. The team had earlier lost to Pakistan ‘A’ and UAE, ending the tournament with three consecutive losses. Nepal batted first on Tuesday but were bowled out for just 78 in 18 overs.

Captain Samjhana Khadka top-scored with 22, while the rest of the batting lineup fell cheaply. After reaching 56 for three at one stage, Nepal lost the remaining wickets for just 22 runs. India’s Tanuja Kunwar led the bowling with four wickets, supported by Minu Mani, who took three.

India chased down the modest target in just 7.5 overs for the loss of three wickets, with Dinesh Brinda scoring 39 off 18 balls, including nine boundaries.

Despite a disappointing showing, Nepal’s encounters against strong sides like Pakistan and India ‘A’ are expected to provide valuable experience for the team in future tournaments.
