Nepal, UAE push for stronger trade & investment ties

KATHMANDU: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Chair of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), met with Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Secretary of Economic Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in Dubai today.
Nepal’s Ambassador to the UAE, Tej Bahadur Kshetri, was also present during the meeting.
According to FNCCI, both sides expressed a strong commitment to enhancing Nepal–UAE economic cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial partnerships in the coming days.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral economic ties and expanding trade and investment collaboration, particularly in priority sectors such as hydropower, tourism, agro-processing, infrastructure, and information technology in Nepal.
Chair Dhakal highlighted that the launch of direct Emirates Airlines flights to Kathmandu would be instrumental in promoting tourism, trade, and overall business growth between the two countries.
