KATHMANDU: The Financial Comptroller General Office has announced that international card payments are now enabled in the Revenue Management Information System (RMIS).

Spokesperson Deepak Lamichhane confirmed that the international payment system has been integrated into RMIS and is operational starting today.

The service was jointly inaugurated by Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal and Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office.

The new system allows foreign service users and tourists visiting Nepal to make revenue payments seamlessly, eliminating the need for physical documentation.

It ensures 24/7 service delivery, facilitating faster, transparent, and internationally accessible transactions, while promoting a digital economy.

The system supports payments through international card networks, including MasterCard, Visa, and Alipay, for services specified by the Department of Immigration. Tourists entering via Tribhuvan International Airport will also benefit from easier access to these services.

Currently, the service is operational for immigration-related revenue payments processed by the Department of Immigration and its affiliated offices.

Officials confirmed that the service will gradually expand to other government agencies in the coming days.
