Nepal fall short as UAE clinch ACC U-19 Premier Cup title

KATHMANDU: Nepal missed out on the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup title after losing to hosts UAE by 27 runs in the final on Monday.

Nepal’s skipper Ashok Dhami top-scored with 34 runs, while Ashish Luhar and Roshan Bishwakarma contributed 25 runs each.
However, their efforts were not enough to secure victory.
UAE’s Yuge Jai Sharma and Ali Asgar Shams shone with the ball, taking three wickets apiece.
Earlier, UAE opted to bat first after losing the toss and posted 147 runs in 45.5 overs.
Ahmad Khudadad anchored the innings with a brilliant 71. For Nepal, Dayanand Mandal delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming six wickets.
Aparajit Poudel took two wickets, while captain Ashok Dhami and Nitesh Kumar Patel took one each.
Despite the defeat, both Nepal and UAE had already sealed their spots in the U-19 Asia Cup, as the finalists automatically qualify.
The tournament will be held in December in the UAE.
