KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma has said the party is fully prepared to send its prime ministerial candidate, party president Gagan Thapa, to Tundikhel for an open public debate.

Speaking at a programme held in Mid-Baneshwor on Thursday, Sharma said the Nepali Congress has no hesitation in presenting its prime ministerial candidate before the public and rival contenders for discussion.

He stressed that Thapa possesses the experience, enthusiasm, maturity and vision required to lead the country.

“Even if someone is to be evaluated as a ward chair, their background, values, competence, contribution and vision are taken into account,” Sharma said. “So, to our friends in the media who have been asking for it—if needed, we are ready to stand our prime ministerial candidate at Tundikhel with full energy and confidence to debate with other candidates.”

Sharma further stated that Gagan Thapa embodies experience, dynamism, restraint, patience and a clear vision for the nation’s future, making him a credible and capable prime ministerial contender.

During the event, he also claimed that the Nepali Congress has fielded candidates in all 165 electoral constituencies, underscoring the party’s nationwide presence and preparedness.
