NC prepares closed list towards proportionality
Joint General Minister Badri Pandey informed that a closed list of candidates for proportional representation is being discussed in the Congress Central Parliamentary Committee beginning at 9 a.m. today.
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has begun preparing a closed list of proportional candidates for the Nov 20 House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.
Joint General Minister Badri Pandey informed that a closed list of candidates for proportional representation is being discussed in the Congress Central Parliamentary Committee beginning at 9 a.m. today.
He stated that the committee officials are meeting in separate clusters at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar and that a formal meeting with the Prime Minister and Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba will take place at 2 p.m.
The Election Commission has set the dates of Sept 18 and 19 for parties to submit their closed list of proportional candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assembly member elections.
