KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged that the China–India bilateral trade agreement via the Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, and Kalapani areas should not be politicized domestically.

Speaking at Thursday’s House of Representatives session, Thapa said that any agreement between India and China without Nepal’s participation is unacceptable, but there is no need to display extreme nationalism over the issue.

He emphasized that all political parties in Nepal should unite and send a clear message against encroachments on the country’s territory.

Thapa also highlighted that his fellow NC General Secretary, Bishwprakash Sharma, had sent a six-point recommendation to the government regarding the agreement, urging authorities to take note.
