NC Acting President Khadka to press for halt of special convention

KATHMANDU: Amid escalating disputes over the Nepali Congress (NC) special convention, Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka is set to address a press conference today.
The event will be held at the party’s central office in Sanepa at 1 PM, party General Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel confirmed.
Earlier, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on Thursday decided to appeal for the immediate halt of the special convention.
Following this decision, Khadka is expected to use the press conference to reiterate the call for stopping the event.
Leaders from other factions, including Dr. Shekhar Koirala, are also likely to attend.
With internal differences over the special convention deepening, today’s press conference is being closely watched as a significant political development within the party.
