NA unanimously considers voter list amendment bill

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly has unanimously approved a proposal to consider the Voter List (First Amendment) Bill, 2083.
The proposal was passed during Wednesday’s meeting of the National Assembly.
Presenting the motion, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam introduced the bill, which was received from the House of Representatives with a message for consideration.
The bill was presented on behalf of Prime Minister Balen Shah, as stated in the session.
Responding to questions raised during the discussion, Minister Gautam said the amendment has been proposed to revise provisions under Section 4 (2) of the Voter List Act, 2073.
She also noted that the previous government had issued an ordinance related to the same provision, and the current bill has been brought forward to formalize the legal arrangement through legislation.
The motion to consider the bill was passed unanimously by the National Assembly National Assembly of Nepal.
