NA panel passes Federal Civil Service Bill

KATHMANDU: The Legislative Management Committee under the National Assembly has approved the Federal Civil Service Bill.

The bill was passed after discussions on the draft report during the committee’s meeting today.

Once the subcommittee finalizes the report and it is signed by the chairperson and committee secretary, it will be presented in the National Assembly today itself.

In today’s meeting, the committee agreed to maintain the mandatory retirement age for civil servants at 58 years in the current fiscal year, 59 in the next, and 60 thereafter.

The bill, which was passed by the House of Representatives on June 29, must be approved by the National Assembly within two months, as mandated by the constitution.
