MP Sherpa summits Everest with Parliament emblem
Sherpa reached the world’s highest peak at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday.
KATHMANDU: Mingma David Sherpa, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has successfully climbed Mount Everest carrying the emblem of Nepal’s Federal Parliament, in a symbolic expedition titled “From Parliament to Summit.”
Sherpa reached the world’s highest peak at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, according to details shared after his return to base camp. He later confirmed the successful ascent through a Facebook post on the ninth day of his expedition.
During the climb, he carried the “House of Representatives” insignia, highlighting his message of linking legislative responsibility with national pride and resilience.
Following the achievement, Sherpa expressed gratitude to all who supported his journey, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other well-wishers.
The expedition, framed under the slogan “From Parliament to Summit,” has drawn attention as a symbolic blend of political representation and mountaineering achievement.
