KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada has emphasized that the government has failed to satisfy everyone’s expectations and needs to accelerate its efforts.

Speaking to the media in the Parliament building on Tuesday, Khatiwada expressed that merely offering disappointment and frustration would not lead the country forward, and that the government must provide rays of hope to the people.

He acknowledged some success in the legislative process during the winter session of Parliament, particularly in law-making, and pointed out that the practice of obstructing Parliament and holding it hostage has somewhat decreased.

Although Khatiwada is a follower of Hinduism, he stressed the importance of building a state that is inclusive of all people, regardless of their religion. He stated, “A country cannot move forward by constantly offering frustration and despair. We must be able to give hope to the people. The government, in its current pace, has not yet satisfied everyone. It is time to shift gears and move forward at a faster pace. I follow Hinduism, but we need to create a Nepal that includes everyone, a Nepal that embraces all.”

He also mentioned the growing activity of monarchist groups and cautioned against making hasty decisions, urging that no one should act impulsively just because of such sentiments.
