KATHMANDU: CPN-UML MP Gangadevi Shrestha has questioned Prime Minister and Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah over his silence on Nepal’s border issues, including the controversial “Greater Nepal” map he previously displayed.

Speaking in the House of Representatives, Shrestha asked, “Where is that map now?” and said citizens had supported Shah believing his nationalist stance. She also questioned his silence on the Lipulekh trade route issue, asking whether any diplomatic efforts had been made beyond social media statements by supporters.

Shrestha further raised concerns about rumors regarding a uranium mine in Mustang and demanded transparency over alleged gold holdings of government ministers.

“The ministers of this government that rose on anti-corruption slogans—where did their huge amount of gold come from?” she said, calling for public disclosure of purchase bills. “Transparency and good governance must start from oneself,” she added.
